Can Peter Pan Survive MT? A Stylometric Study of LLMs, NMTs, and HTs in Children’s Literature Translation
Published in CTT Workshop @ MT Summit 2025, arXiv preprint, 2025
This stylometric study compares 21 English-to-Chinese translations of Peter Pan—including 7 human, 7 LLM, and 7 NMT translations—using 447 features across lexical, syntactic, and creative-text dimensions. Results show LLMs more closely resemble HTs in stylistic patterns than NMTs, demonstrating promise in literary translation tasks.
