AI Translation and Post-Editing AI 翻译与译后编辑 (Fall 2026)
Graduate MTI course, Shanghai University of Electric Power, 2026
A 16-week core course for first-year Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) students. AI Translation and Post-Editing (09M7008) treats translation as a human–AI workflow: the machine produces a first draft; the translator judges quality, controls style and takes responsibility for delivery.
The course combines lectures with hands-on practice (32 class hours, including 6 practical hours). Across eight modules, students move from the changing language-services industry and generative-AI prompting to machine-translation post-editing, terminology and language-asset management, corpus and computational-stylistics methods, localisation, and project quality assurance. No programming background is required.
The aim is AI literacy for translators: understanding how systems work, using tools effectively, evaluating their output critically, and using them responsibly. Students work in groups of three or four and complete a translation workflow from terminology preparation and machine translation to post-editing, QA and delivery.
